Honda Shine Latest Updates

Honda has hiked the prices of its best-selling motorcycle, the Shine 125, by Rs 1,072. Check out its new prices in our story. As a result, the BS6 Honda Shine will set you back by Rs 71,550 and Rs 76,346 for the drum and disc variant respectively.

The BS6 update brought with it a couple of extra features along with mechanical updates. It's available in four colour options: Black, Geny Grey Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic and Athletic Blue Metallic.

Honda Shine Engine

Powering the Shine is a BS6-compliant 125cc fuel-injected motor. Honda claims it is now 14 per cent more fuel efficient than before. It's tuned to produce 10.7PS at 7500rpm and 11Nm at 6000rpm, mated to a new 5-speed transmission. Though the Shine's hardware remains unchanged, its wheelbase has been increased by 19mm (1285mm). Moreover, with 162mm of (5mm more) ground clearance, the bike has more room to clear tall speed breakers. The changes in dimensions should improve the overall stability of the bike.

Honda Shine Design

In terms of design, the Shine BS6 features minor design tweaks which makes it look sharper than before. This comes in the form of a sleeker headlight cowl, chrome highlights on the headlamp visor and side panels, and new graphics.

The commuter now comes with a couple of segment-first features like an ACG starter motor, which offers extremely silent, almost noiseless starts and a start/stop switch.

The Honda Shine BS6 goes up against the Hero Super Splendor and Bajaj Discover 125. The former is on par with the Shine in terms of price but lacks features. The latter misses out on features but is more affordable than the BS6 Shine.

    It is one of the best bike to start with as a abnio in riding. It's just 5 speed gear transmission box which give a better speed riding and seat is just excellent for upto 3 people and mileage is also excellent. It looks are just killer and will never give feeling of 125cc but 160cc.

  • Mind I do not have problem with the gearbox, because I use change the engine oil according to the manufacturers recommended period of maintenance. The only thing I periodically change are O rings and gaskets since they are submitted in heat for everyday commute and long rides. Honda is known for it's reliability.
