About Honda

Honda came to India in the 1980s and joined hands with Hero to locally manufacture motorcycles suitable for the Indian market. Their divorce in 2011 was amicable but by then Honda had managed to establish itself as a singular entity. The Japanese bikemaker had got us hooked onto scooters once again and pretty much wowed us with the Unicorn.
While its bread and butter remained the Activa, the company started venturing into other segments as well. We got to see the CBR250R and the CBR150R, the CB Hornet 160R, and more recently, the XBlade. All of these bikes, barring the XBlade, ceased to exist when stringent emission norms came into effect.
Product Portfolio
Scooters - Honda’s current scooter line-up comprises the Activa 6G, Dio, Activa 125 and Grazia. The theme is pretty simple, where the Activa is the more mature and conventional choice, the Dio and Grazia offer a sporty and stylish alternative. Although, the performance difference compared to their respective Activa counterparts is virtually nothing.
Commuters - After enjoying much success with the Unicorn 150 and CB Shine 125, Honda has its footprint in the 110cc, 125cc, 160cc and the sub-200cc commuter space. The CD110 Dream is the most affordable bike of the lot, the Shine 125 and Unicorn 160 remain the popular products while the Hornet 2.0 is Honda’s largest commuter naked motorcycle on sale in India.
Retro bikes - Honda India built the new 350cc platform to take on Royal Enfield in 2020. It currently has two motorcycles that use the same engine -- the CB350 H’ness and the CB350 RS -- but the two differ slightly in ergonomics, wheel sizes and just a little bit of aesthetics.
ADVs - Honda’s ADV range begins with CB500X. Yes, there is the small CB200X but it can hardly be called an ADV as it gets the same suspension, wheels and chassis as the Hornet 2.0 naked. There’s also the Africa Twin on sale with the manual transmission option going on sale alongside the DCT version in early-2020.
Big Bikes - The likes of the CB650R and the CBR650R are highly adored motorcycles. They do cost quite a bit but arrive with the Honda stamp of trust and reliability, something that big bike buyers find quite assuring. If you want a tourer, you have the option of the Gold Wing as well. Honda will sell you the CBR1000RR-R but prices are not divulged and the bike is brought to the country on order basis.
Greatest Hits
Activa - Began the scootering sensation
Unicorn 150 - The smoothest bike you could ride
CB Shine 125 - Set the trend for 125cc commuters
CBR250R - A quarter-litre sportbike that could do it all
Dio - A youthful scooter that every college go-er wanted
Future Prospects
Honda has a lot of projects in the pipeline. Firstly, it has opened up a new engine plant in the country dedicated for midsize fun capacity motorcycles. So, the likes of the CB300R and the 500cc models are likely to be made here. Honda plans to have an electric scooter by FY23 end and is likely to take the shape of the Activa. We also expect Honda to have a few more models on the CB350 platform.

It is one of the best bike to start with as a abnio in riding. It's just 5 speed gear transmission box which give a better speed riding and seat is just excellent for upto 3 people and mileage is also excellent. It looks are just killer and will never give feeling of 125cc but 160cc.

  • Dio

If you are looking for a good scooter then HONDA DIO is a great option. With it 55+ mileage and in the new avatar Dio is an eyecatcher loaded with features. The main pro is the handling, one can easily handle Dio (better than Activa). Overall, the best scooter for daily commutes.
