TVS iQube Electric Latest Updates

TVS has acquired a majority stake in Swiss E-Mobility AG, Switzerland’s largest e-bike conglomerate. What could be the implications of this on TVS’ upcoming electric two-wheelers? Head here for our analysis.

The TVS iQube Electric will be available in 20 cities across the country by the end of March 2022. To this effect, the company signed an MoU with Convergence Energy Services (a Government of India initiative) in June 2021 to help establish a charging network in those cities. You can read our in-depth report here.

TVS iQube Electric Engine

The TVS iQube Electric is powered by a 4.4kW electric hub motor and a set of 2.25kWh li-ion batteries that propel the e-scooter to a claimed top speed of 78kmph. It can travel up to 75km on a full charge. It's quick too, bolting from 0 to 40kmph in 4.2 seconds. Although, the scooter is restricted to a top speed of 40kmph in Eco mode. In terms of underpinnings, the scooter uses a telescopic fork and twin shocks at the rear. The scooter is anchored by a front disc and a drum unit at the rear. Its 12-inch wheels have been borrowed from the Jupiter Grande. The iQube weighs in at 118kg (kerb).

TVS iQube Electric Features

The TVS iQube Electric boasts a lot of features, including a full-colour digital display that connects to your smartphone, LED lights, an illuminating logo near the drivetrain, an underseat light, and a USB charging socket. Other notable features include Q-park assist, riding modes, day and night display, and regenerative braking. Thanks to smartphone connectivity, you can check past ride stats, overspeeding and emergency alerts, battery charge status, last park location, as well as get navigation assist and incoming call/SMS alerts.

TVS iQube Electric Competitors

The TVS iQube electric scooter will go up against the Ather 450 Plus and Bajaj Chetak. TVS is offering a 3-year/50,000 km warranty on the iQube.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying iQube Electric

Q. Where are showrooms and service centers in Ahmedabad ?
Q. How is the performance and riding experience?
  • It's capable of producing 3kW of continuous power and peak power of 4.4kW for a short duration of 60 seconds. That may not seem like much on paper, but it's actually quite quick. For a frame of reference, despite being the heavier scooter, it's not only quicker but feels more responsive than its ICE counterpart, the TVS Jupiter. The smooth and instant delivery of power also makes quick overtakes an absolute breeze. Even Eco for that matter is actually very useful in the city, which isn't the case with other e-scooters. Open the throttle and there's enough torque to help you weave through traffic. The speed is capped at 50kmph (45kmph true speed) which is more than enough for city use. Switching to Power Mode gives you access to the full 78kmph the motor has to offer. This is perfect for when you move to open stretches of roads or highways. At 118kg, the iQube is on the heavier side. But the weight can only be felt while moving it around in the parking lot. Thankfully, the iQube does come with a Q-park assist which not only lets you reverse the scooter using the motor but also go forward by simply long pressing on the button. However, engaging the modes through the switches is a bit difficult. Once you get going, the weight just disappears. Besides, the weight of the batteries is well distributed, so the scooter feels light and nimble. While the suspension setup isn’t as plush as saying the Jupiter, it does a decent enough job at absorbing bumps and undulations. What you do notice, however, is the firmness from the rear shocks which might even toss you off the seat on really sharp bumps. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.Read more -TVS iQube Electric: Road Test Review.
Q. In this iQube, battery is detached and charged or it has to be charged with in the vehicle?
  • TVS iQube's battery is not removable. It comes equipped with a 2.25kWh lithium-ion battery that takes 5 hours to charge completely using a 5A home charging socket. Moreover, there are three batteries to be precise, one stored under the floorboard and the other two in front of the under-seat storage.
More Questions
Q. Is TVS iQube Electric available in Hyderabad
  • The TVS iQube is available in Bengaluru and Delhi and will soon be available in Hyderabad and Pune. Moreover, we would suggest you to stay tuned for the updates.
  • Just wanted to check when will it get launched in hyderabad as I am ready to book
  • Yes
Q. What's is the best choice bajaj chetak or tvs icube electric?
  • Selecting between the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube Electric would depend on certain factors such as usage, budget, features required, brand preference, etc. Bajaj has ushered in a new era of electric mobility with the Chetak electric. Its timeless appeal is only matched by its elegant style and premium fit and finish levels. The Chetak might not be as futuristic or boast of great performance as the Ather 450X, but it does offer an easy urban riding experience. The Bajaj is offering you a more feature-rich scooter, with things like a touchscreen, navigation, and fast charging, none of which are available on the Chetak. It’s also considerably quicker, more exciting to ride and even gets a rear disc brake over the Chetak’s drum. On the other hand, iQube Electric has an annoying startup tune, which sounds like a certain water purifier, The raised floorboard means your legs could foul with the handlebar while making tight U-turns, Doesn’t support fast charging, yet. The iQube should be sweating a bit, because, after years of being developed behind closed doors, it is now meeting reality and the competition. The Ather 450 and Bajaj’s Chetak put the iQube on the back foot, at least on paper, but it’s on the roads it has to prove itself. The heart of the iQube is a 3kW hub motor sourced from Bosch, which is a bit disappointing. Even the 4.4kW of peak power, translating to about 6PS of power, sounds quite middling. TVS’ claims of accomplishing the 0-40kph dash in 4.2s and hitting a top speed of 78kph don’t mean much either, unless it does so in a fun and confident manner. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership..Read more:- Bajaj Chetak First Ride ReviewRead more:- 2020 TVS iQube: First Ride Review
Q. What is the battery life and cost of new battery of TVS iQube Electric?
  • It would be unfair to give a verdict about battery life as it depends on several factors such as proper maintenance, timely service, usage, storage of the vehicle etc, and the price of a new battery, we would suggest you walk into the nearest service centre as they will be better people to assist you. You can click on the following link to see the details of the nearest service centres and selecting your city accordingly - Service centre.
  • Tvs i qube have 3 batteries, each costs approx Rs.15000 and if one battery is not working than you can go with another two batteries with the approx range of 66%
  • The battery cost 21000, as shown in Indiamart.
