TVS Jupiter 125 Latest Updates

TVS Motors has revised the prices of the Jupiter 125. It now starts from Rs 75,625 (ex-showroom), which is Rs 1,200 more than its previous starting price. Check out our story for more details.

The new scooter has a more mass appeal than the NTorq 125, courtesy of all the things it has going for itself. Check out our story for more details. You can also read about our first ride review here.

TVS Jupiter 125 Engine

The Jupiter 125 is powered by a BS6-compliant 124.8cc fuel-injected two-valve motor, delivering 8.3PS and 10.5Nm. TVS claims the new scooter returns best-in-class fuel economy. The engine is housed in a new frame, sprung on a telescopic fork and a three-step preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock. Thanks to the new chassis, the fuel tank has moved under the floorboard, making way for bigger underseat storage capable of holding two helmets. It runs on 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (on the top-spec variant) with 90-section tubeless tyres, clamped by a 220mm disc up front (130mm drum also available as a variant) and a 130mm rear drum brake. At 109kg, the Jupiter 125 weighs 2kg more than the 110cc scooter.

TVS Jupiter 125 Variants

The TVS Jupiter BS6 is available in three variants: Steel wheel (Rs 75,625), Drum brake/alloy wheels (Rs 78,125), and Front disc/diamond alloy wheel (Rs 82,575).

TVS Jupiter 125 Design

The new TVS Jupiter 125’s design is identical to its smaller sibling, but it’s visually bulkier. It looks fairly conservative, with a flowing design and no over-the-top elements. The fascia is reminiscent of the smaller Jupiter, but to help it stand out, TVS has thrown in a set of LED DRLs. There’s plenty of bling here too; you get chrome accents on the side body panels and the front apron. At the back, the Jupiter 125 gets an LED taillight with body-coloured grab handles (with integrated reflector). All these make the Jupiter 125 look quite premium.

TVS Jupiter 125 Features

As expected from a TVS offering, the Jupiter 125 packs multiple features. These include LED headlamp/tail lamp/ DRLs, while the indicators are bulb units. Additionally, TVS has thrown in an informative semi-digital instrument cluster that displays fuel efficiency, fuel level, distance-to-empty, Eco and power telltale lights, apart from the basics. Bluetooth connectivity has been given a miss this time around, but TVS says it will introduce a Bluetooth-equipped variant if there’s adequate demand. The new Jupiter 125 takes practicality up a notch. It gets a front fuel filler cap, class-leading 33-litre underseat storage, a 2-litre front cubby space with a USB port, and a multi-function key. An ACG starter, i-TOUCHstart in TVS’ lingo, also comes standard. There’s also TVS’ Intelli-Go start/stop system for improved fuel efficiency.

TVS Jupiter 125 Competitors

The Jupiter 125 competes with the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125. Price-wise, it competes with the Hero Destini 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125, Hero Splendor iSmart, Yamaha Fascino 125, and even its sporty cousin, the NTorq 125.

  • Tvs has brought this beautiful jupiter 125 for you.Considering other scooties, These scooties have some different features than others. The price of this scooty is affordable to the common man. There is no problem in using the bike even for long distance travel. This is a strong and sturdy bike among other scooties. The cost of maintenance is also low.

  • Best vehicle in terms for mileage Servicing, User friendly. Before i purchased vehicle gone through zigwheels review it's an correct review.Helped me to direct the purchase on right vehicle, Thank u.

  • 3.8

Tvs jupiter uses the third 125cc engine in tvs’ stable, And this is the most basic of the lot, With a two-valve head.Nevertheless, Its output figures of 8.2hp and 10.5nm are par for the segment, And the jupiter 125 feels quick on its feet in the city.It looks good, There are also good space to carry our things, But many complaint that the engine becomes hot fast, I think it is not a good factor.

  • 4.6

Tvs jupiter 125 design is fairly straightforward, What helps the jupiter stand out is its excellent paint quality and a healthy dose of chrome all across its body, Giving the scooter an upmarket appearance. It also has the build quality and finish levels to match, For the most part, Although the plastics around the headlamp don’t seem to fit flush on our scooter and the boot light shakes itself loose sometimes.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Jupiter 125

Q. Which scooter is best, Hero Destini 125 or TVS Jupiter 125?
  • Both the scooters are good in their own forte. Overall, at Destini’s price point, the 110cc scooters offer better practicality inside the city with better storage, more features, and are more comfortable as well. The reason to pick the Destini over the 110’s is its impressive performance and its ability to carry a load or a pillion inside the city with ease. On the other hand, Jupiter 125 top-notch fit and finish levels, External fuel filler on the front apron is extremely convenient, Massive 33 litres of underseat storage can hold a lot of stuff. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Q. How is this scooter for long rides?
  • At 108kg, it’s not the lightest in its segment, but there are a few things to consider. First of all, the floorboard-mounted fuel tank means all the weight is concentrated down low, so moving it around at standstill is a piece of cake. And when on the move, the Jupiter 125 seems the least like a traditional family scooter, because of another essential ingredient: 12-inch wheels front and rear, a la the NTorq. This means it feels a lot more stable than the Activa and Access in city traffic, and considering the immodest low- and mid-speed grunt on tap, you’ll be zipping through traffic all day, every day. Its ride quality, too, is at odds with the entire commuter genre. Instead of a typical soft setup, the Jupiter 125 is quite composed. You won’t feel that “bouncy” feeling that many commuter scooters suffer from when going over speed breakers. Additionally, there’s no wallow when going over large undulations, even with a pillion on board. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Click on the link and select your desired city for dealership details.Read more -TVS Jupiter 125 Road Test Review - TVS’ contender for the commute..-TVS Jupiter 125 First Ride Review: New Family Scooter King.
  • In terms of stability it is one of the best 125cc scooters. But, it lacks the punch that you might need for long rides that even some 110cc scooters are better in than this 125cc. Overall, its very stable, comfortable and returns a decent mileage of 43kmpl with a pillion at 70kmph, only if you accelerate linearly.
  • Hii
Q. Which scooter to choose, Jupiter 125, Activa 125 or Access 125?
  • All three scooters are good in their forte. At first glance, the Jupiter 125 does everything you’d expect from a 125cc family scooter and some more. It’s got decent performance, handles well and it’s very comfortable too. But where it really stands out is with its comfort and convenience features, most of which are segment-leading, and almost make you wonder why no one else has implemented them before. Given that the Jupiter 125 comes better equipped at this price, we think it’s better value for money, and that might be enough to convince family-scooter buyers. On the other hand, The Honda Activa 125 BS6 does everything the previous scooter did and builds on it. In terms of practicality, comfort and reliability, few come as close as the Activa 125. It might not be thrilling to ride but with an extensive feature list, the Activa 125 ticks all the boxes of a family-oriented 125cc scooter. Whereas, The Suzuki Access 125 BS6 has all the crucial updates to help it continue its streak of being the best-selling scooter in the 125cc segment. Sure it does have its own set of shortcomings but as an overall package, the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 is capable of holding its own in the competitive segment. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.Read more -TVS Jupiter 125 First Ride Review: New Family Scooter King.-TVS Jupiter 125 Road Test Review - TVS’ contender for the commute.-Suzuki Access 125 BS6: Road Test Review.

Q. Which is better Jupiter or Jupiter 125?
  • Selecting between the TVS Jupiter and Jupiter 125 would depend on certain factors such as your budget, preference of the segment, features required, etc. The Jupiter was and remains a fantastic alternative to the best-selling Honda Activa. It remains our pick as the best 110cc family scooter on sale. On the other hand, the Jupiter 125 does everything you’d expect from a 125cc family scooter, and some more. Q. Which scooter to buy Burgman Street 125 or Jupiter 125?
  • Both the scooters are good in their forte. Not only is the Burgman better in terms of performance and fuel efficiency, but it also offers a more mature and relaxed ride experience thanks to its blend of seating position, refinement and rides quality. On the other hand, at first glance, the Jupiter 125 does everything you’d expect from a 125cc family scooter and some more. It’s got decent performance, handles well and it’s very comfortable too.
