TVS Jupiter Latest Updates

TVS has launched the Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect in India at Rs 80,793 (ex-showroom Delhi). For more details, read our launch story.

TVS has hiked the prices of the Jupiter. It now begins from Rs 66,988 and goes up to Rs 77,773 (ex-showroom Delhi). Here's a look at the current price list.

The Jupiter is not only the most important scooter for TVS, but also its most popular model on sale. Its success can be attributed to the features, frugal motor, and competitive pricing.

TVS Jupiter Engine

The Jupiter is powered by a BS6-compliant 109.7cc air-cooled and fuel-injected motor. It delivers 7.47PS at 7000rpm and 8.4Nm at 5,500rpm. The new engine makes 0.52Nm less torque than the BS4 Jupiter. However, peak power comes 500rpm lower in the rev range. While there is a slight drop in power, TVS claims the new scooter delivers 15 percent better fuel economy. The Jupiter BS6 sports an underbone frame with a telescopic fork and a three-step preload-adjustable monoshock. It runs on 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The Jupiter BS6 gets drum brakes on both wheels as standard while a disc brake is offered as an optional extra. At 109kg, the Jupiter BS6 is one of the heavier 110cc scooters out there. However, its 150mm ground clearance is quite good for a scooter. It gets a 21-litre underseat storage space that can accommodate a regular full-size helmet.

TVS Jupiter Variants

The TVS Jupiter BS6 is available in five variants: Sheet Metal (Rs 66,988), Standard (Rs 69,998), ZX (Rs 73,973), Disc (Rs 77,773) and ZX Disc with SmartXonnect (Rs 80,793) . While the ZX variant gets beige plastic panels and a two-tone seat, the Classic variant features a tinted visor, chrome mirrors, a sticker job, padded seat, and a backrest.

TVS Jupiter Design

The 2021 TVS Jupiter shares its design with its BS4 predecessor. However, it now gets an LED headlight which was first seen on the BS4 Jupiter Grande variant. Other updates include redesigned graphics and a new Indiblue paint job (Classic BS6 variant). Buyers can choose from 10 colour options across three variants. The base Jupiter variant comes in Mystic Gold, Titanium Grey, Midnight Black, Volcano Red, Pristine White, Walnut Brown, Matte Blue, and Matte Silver. The more premium ZX variant comes in Starlight Blue and Royal Wine. The top-spec Jupiter Classic BS6 variant is available in Indiblue, Autumn Brown, and Sunlit Ivory.

TVS Jupiter Features

The Jupiter BS6 gets an LED headlamp and tail lamp, while the indicators are bulb units. It features an analogue instrument console as standard that displays speed, fuel level, and houses other telltale signs as well. Some variants feature a semi-digital instrument cluster. The external fuel filler cap, external pass light switch, and alloy wheels have been carried over. While the Jupiter BS6 variant gets a standard USB charging outlet on the front apron, TVS also offers an underseat USB port as an option. The new Jupiter ZX Disc variant also comes with an ACG starter, called i-TOUCHstart in TVS lingo.

What is good and bad in Jupiter?

  • Jupiter Positives

Fuel-efficient motor, fantastic ride quality, competitive pricing.

  • Jupiter Negatives

Dated design, no disc brake option.

  • Expert's Conclusion

The Jupiter was and remains a fantastic alternative to the best-selling Honda Activa. While the Honda Activa in its 6G avatar comes close to the Jupiter in terms of features, the Jupiter still has the edge when it comes to pricing. We feel that TVS could have equipped the Jupiter with more features to offset the inevitable price hike. It remains our pick as the best 110cc family scooter on sale.

  • Vehicle is sturdy but low on mileage.Considering high fuel.Prices this is a definate cause for concern.Currently gives me less than 30 kmpl.

  • For riding it's good and mileage is oky but we need more satisfaction on mileage because it's nearly 100000 price so

  • 3.0

The mialege i get to my jupiter standard(110cc) model is 44 kmph in city(economy mode) but i highways i get 52 kmph(power mode).🙂 so in this ways tvs jupiter is best scooter.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Jupiter

Q. Which scooter to purchase, Jupiter, Activa 6G or Access 125?
  • Selecting the right bike/scooter would depend on certain factors such as your budget, fuel type preference, maintenance costs, usability, etc. The Jupiter was and remains a fantastic alternative to the best-selling Honda Activa. While the Honda Activa in its 6G avatar comes close to Jupiter in terms of features, Jupiter still has the edge when it comes to pricing. We feel that TVS could have equipped Jupiter with more features to offset the inevitable price hike. It remains our pick as the best 110cc family scooter on sale. Whare as, the new list of updates on India’s most popular scooter has made the Activa 6G a more exciting proposition than before. However, the Activa 6G still misses out on some basic features which should have been standard by now. On the other hand, the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 has all the crucial updates to help it continue its streak of being the best-selling scooter in the 125cc segment. Sure it does have its own set of shortcomings but as an overall package, the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 is capable of holding its own in the competitive segment. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
Q. Is TVS Jupiter worth to buy for daily use?
  • Yes, TVS Jupiter doesn’t promise mind-boggling performance or handling. What it promises is a plush, smooth ride and features that will make your mundane commutes a tad enjoyable. And if you are on the lookout for a scooter that you and your family could happily live with, the TVS Jupiter doesn’t fall short on any account. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Q. Which is better Jupiter or Jupiter 125?
  • Selecting between the TVS Jupiter and Jupiter 125 would depend on certain factors such as your budget, preference of the segment, features required, etc. The Jupiter was and remains a fantastic alternative to the best-selling Honda Activa. It remains our pick as the best 110cc family scooter on sale. On the other hand, the Jupiter 125 does everything you’d expect from a 125cc family scooter, and some more. It’s got decent performance, handles well and it’s very comfortable too. But where it really stands out is with its comfort and convenience features, most of which are segment-leading, and almost make you wonder why no one else has implemented them before. Given that the Jupiter 125 comes better equipped at this price, we think it’s better value for money, and that might be enough to convince family-scooter buyers to give this newcomer a shot over its tried and tested competition. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Click on the link and select your desired city for dealership details.

More Questions
Q. Which is better to buy NTORQ or Jupiter?
  • Yes ntorq is way more powerful enjoyable scooter. Because of their 12 inch wheels both front and rear.It is a best scooter for city usage and long riding.TVS got ramora tyres which is grippy. Ntorq biggest draw is its 'smart connect system' which allows the rider to use the TVS NTORQ APP & connect his/her smartphone to the scooter. This allows you to get access to all sorts of information such as call arerts,SMS alert, navigation assist and also access to 3 trip meter, lap timer,0 to 60 KMPH time, service reminder and many more. The ntorq makes 1.46bhp more than Jupiter.
  • It depends on your preferences such as weight of bike, bluetooth navigation, seating comfort, how many people you will be taking, what distance you will be travelling, and so on. Please do not just blindly buy a bike based on ratings. Even if the bike is good you have to check if it will be good for you.
  • Both are different tvs Jupiter is a practical machine and have better comfort and mileage and it is suited to all age groups.Ntorq is a sporty 125cc scooter and its looks polarizing it is a scooter made for youth it is a sports oriented scooter from TVS its strong point is performance and with many segment first features like Bluetooth connection and GPS, thought its downside is its mileage and less storage capacity. hence if you want a practical scooter and your budget is tight go for TVS Jupiter and if you want a performance motorcycle then go for Ntorq.

Q. I'm looking for a two wheeler I already used Activa 3g. And I'm looking for something new. I'm little confused in Activa 6g/ Jupiter classic and Activa 125cc without Disk Brake. Please suggest me.
  • Selecting between the Honda Activa 125, Honda Activa 6G and Jupiter Classic would depend on certain factors such as your budget, fuel type preference, maintenance costs, usability, etc. Honda Activa 125 gets an ACG silent starter, Offers 13 per cent (claimed) better fuel efficiency, Comes with Idling Stop System. The Honda Activa 125 BS6 does everything the previous scooter did and builds on it. In terms of practicality, comfort and reliability, few come as close as the Activa 125. It might not be thrilling to ride but with an extensive feature list, the Activa 125 ticks all the boxes of a family-oriented 125cc scooter. Moreover, Honda Activa 6G is a Refined engine, metal body, Honda brand value the new list of updates on India’s most popular scooter has made the Activa 6G a more exciting proposition than before. However, the Activa 6G still misses out on some basic features which should have been standard by now. TVS Ntorque 125 : 42 kmpl7. Vespa sxl 125 : 45 kmpl6.vespa vxl 125 : 45 kmpl5. Honda dio : 48kmpl4. TVs Jupiter ; 50kmpl3. Access 125 : 50 kmpl2. Activa 6G : 55 kmpl1. Honda Grazia : 60 kmpl
  • I am owing Jupiter right now purchased yesterday. So I calculated the mileage of 52kmpl by riding it in eco mode only without frequent acceleration and de acceleration . If you want comfortable ride with decent mileage and with less maintenance surely go for Jupiter. But If you want only mileage than go for activa if you can ride it under 40 kmph then it will definitely provide you better mileage than Jupiter
