About TVS

TVS History:
TVS Motor Company started off as a transportation company in South India. Then, the company set up a plant in Hosur in 1976, where it started manufacturing the TVS 50 moped, the first ever of its kind in India. Growing at a more than steady pace, the company then partnered with Japanese company Suzuki. Years later, it’s now in a joint venture with none other than BMW Motorrad. In fact, the BMW G 310 R, the G 310 GS, and the Apache RR 310 are all fruits of this joint venture.

This aside, TVS’ own Apache lineup has matured exceptionally over the years. The recently launched TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is one of the best and highest-selling motorcycles in the 200cc space, while the TVS Apache range dominates the segment of bikes between Rs 1 lakh-2 lakh in India. TVS was also one of the first mainstream Indian manufacturers to introduce an electric vehicle, the iQube Electric scooter.

Product portfolio:
Commuter bikes: TVS offers two commuter bikes in India, the TVS  Radeon and the TVS Sport. Both bikes are sensible options if you want a bike with good mileage and features - all at an affordable price point.

Nakeds: The TVS Apache RTR 180, 160, 160 4V, and the 200 4V all lie in this category. All these bikes have aged quite well over the years. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V, in particular, shine in this lineup, thanks to their unmatched features, and regular launches of the updated versions.

Sportsbikes: The only sports bike in TVS’ stable is the Apache RR 310. The RR 310 is a by-product of the TVS-BMW partnership and it is loaded with segment-first features and is priced fairly well too.

Scooters: TVS’ scooter lineup consists of a whole variety of offerings. From small light weight scooters like the Scooty Pep Plus and the Scooty Zest 110 to the sporty TVS NTorq and no-nonsense TVS Jupiter, there’s one for all here. TVS recently updated its flagship scooter, the NTorq with riding modes and spruced up its power figures, making it the most powerful 125cc scooter in the country. Not to forget, TVS also recently launched the Jupiter 125, its first 125cc commuter scooter.

Electric scooter: TVS also has an electric scooter in its stable, the iQube Electric. This cute scooter offers a good blend of features and performance (for the city), and even its sales numbers seem to be improving slowly but steadily.

Greatest Hits
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V - Best-in-class features
TVS Jupiter - One of the highest-selling Indian scooters
TVS Apache RR 310 - Most feature-packed 300cc sport bike in India
TVS XL100 - Highest-selling moped in our country

Future prospect:
We expect TVS to introduce more EVs in the near future, as the times have certainly progressed since the iQube’s arrival. Moreover, TVS could also be bringing a roadster bike soon, as it trademarked the name ‘Retron’ recently, followed by a cruiser bike, likely to be called the TVS Zeppelin R.

Tvs jupiter uses the third 125cc engine in tvs’ stable, And this is the most basic of the lot, With a two-valve head.Nevertheless, Its output figures of 8.2hp and 10.5nm are par for the segment, And the jupiter 125 feels quick on its feet in the city.It looks good, There are also good space to carry our things, But many complaint that the engine becomes hot fast, I think it is not a good factor.

It's a good metal body, best design, smooth ride, and is fit for my personality. I enjoyed every ride with it. I always appreciate it as a product with quality while riding. I felt the change of gear is very smooth, and the sound of the engine shows its presence, along with gear change and speed. My only complaint is the digital speedometer got corrupted and didn't get a chance to fix it.

I am excited to try this bike. With fuel prices rising, Finding a two wheeler with long range and short charging time is difficult.Tvs has been a long standing brand with some classic model but with the entry in electric space, Two wheeler space will have some exciting models.

With the fuelinjection model its not possible to calculate exact mileage

  • Zigwheels

You may go for a big sized tyre but upsizing the size of a tyre is increasingly becoming an obsession with people to create an added visual appeal to their car. Moreover, It is advisable to go for an upgrade anywhere between the 3% margin for better performance and handling, increased grip and creating a visual appeal. Do take note that upsizing the wheels and tyres may decrease the fuel efficiency of the car and may result in a speedometer error on the car if upsizing is not correct. For more information, we would suggest you get in touch with the nearest authorized servicecentre in your city.

Selecting the right bike/scooter would depend on certain factors such as your budget, fuel type preference, maintenance costs, usability, etc. The Jupiter was and remains a fantastic alternative to the best-selling Honda Activa. While the Honda Activa in its 6G avatar comes close to Jupiter in terms of features, Jupiter still has the edge when it comes to pricing. We feel that TVS could have equipped Jupiter with more features to offset the inevitable price hike. It remains our pick as the best 110cc family scooter on sale. Whare as, the new list of updates on India’s most popular scooter has made the Activa 6G a more exciting proposition than before. However, the Activa 6G still misses out on some basic features which should have been standard by now. On the other hand, the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 has all the crucial updates to help it continue its streak of being the best-selling scooter in the 125cc segment. Sure it does have its own set of shortcomings but as an overall package, the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 is capable of holding its own in the competitive segment. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
